Family and group stays in Rovaniemi
Room for everyone: separate bedrooms, a big kitchen table, a place to dry snowsuits and often your own sauna.
We have 35 homes in Rovaniemi that sleep 6 to 10 guests: 21 houses and villas and 14 larger apartments. They suit families with children, grandparents coming along, or a group of friends sharing one place.
For a family trip to Lapland a home usually works better than hotel rooms. Children get their own bedroom, you can cook breakfast before an early tour, and wet winter clothes dry overnight. Many of these homes also have a private sauna, which kids tend to love after a cold day outside.
Santa Claus Village is about 8 km north of the centre, and husky and reindeer farms are nearby. If Santa is the main reason for your trip, look at homes on the north side of town or ask us to suggest one.

Tips for a family trip to Rovaniemi
Pick the right month
December is the Christmas season and the busiest time. January to March is colder but quieter, with more snow and longer days for activities.
Dress in layers
Most tour companies lend thermal overalls and boots. You still need wool base layers, mittens and a hat. See our winter packing list.
Mix tours and free days
One tour a day is plenty with small children. Sledding, a sauna and a walk in the snow are often their favourite memories anyway.
Not sure which one fits?
Tell us your dates, group and wishes. A local from our team replies with two or three homes that fit, and can add tours like huskies or a northern lights trip.
Questions guests ask
What is the largest home you have in Rovaniemi?
Our largest Rovaniemi homes sleep 10 guests in four bedrooms. For bigger groups we can combine two homes close to each other.
Do the homes have cots and high chairs?
Not every home has them as standard. Tell us your children’s ages in your request and we will check what the home can provide before you book.
Which area is best for families?
Near Santa Claus Village is easiest if Santa is the focus. The city centre is best without a car. Read where to stay in Rovaniemi for the details.
Can you book tours for us?
Yes. Use Plan your trip to tell us what you would like to do, and we will suggest homes and experiences like huskies, reindeer and Santa visits.
